Volunteers are the backbone of TCHS. By volunteering, you are helping to keep the shelter going. Volunteers can do any number of tasks at TCHS, such as working directly with the animals by feeding and training them, cleaning kennels, and providing companionship. Additionally, volunteers can help by assisting with housekeeping chores such as cleaning, laundry, maintenance, etc. We can also frequently use help in the office with tasks such as data entry and open hours. You can also find a full list of volunteer opportunities below.

We understand any number of circumstances can lead to a person's need to perform community service, and are happy to accept people needing to complete community service as volunteers. For community service, we still ask that you complete a volunteer application and submit it to us prior to beginning. Please note that while we will strive to accomadate whatever weekly service hour requirements you may have, we frequently cannot provide more than 10-15 hours per week in community service to a single person, so please plan accordingly.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the volunteer application (below). All volunteers will be required to attend a volunteer orientation, which we hold twice each month. For more information on volunteering and when the next available orientation is scheduled, please contact TCHS.
